Ski amadé is a symphony of the slopes…
….860km of piste, 270 lifts and 25 resorts, all available on just one lift pass and just a snowball's throw from Salzburg. The collection of five regions, which you can waltz through at your leisure, is named in honour of the City of Salzburg's most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Not only is this skiing on a grand scale but there is also no other snow sports region anywhere that is so easy to get to. Salzburg is well served by numerous flights from the UK, including budget airlines, and from the airport you can be at your hotel within less than an hour.
Each area - Schladming-Dachstein, Salzburger Sportwelt, Grossarltal, Gastein and Hochkönig - is massive in its own right. It is almost impossible to ski them all on the same holiday - but you can try several as they are easily accessible by ski bus. This is skiing - and boarding - for all levels, and for all the family, from large nursery areas beside the lifts to tricky, testing black runs. In-between are hundreds of kilometres of the best cruising in the Alps, with long runs served by some of the most modern lifts anywhere - state-of-the-art gondolas and six-seater covered chairs. These are in sharp contrast to the traditional beauty of the mountains, where you will always be able to find a spot away from the crowds.
You can stay in all kinds of accommodation, from a small cosy pension to a smart spa hotel - all at a cost noticeably lower than in some better-known areas.
